Armin Strom Continues to Push the Boundaries of the Modern Dress Watch with the Tribute 1 Rose Gold
The stainless steel Tribute 1 watch from Armin Strom caught the attention of the Haute Horlogerie community in 2021. It reimagined the genre with its grenade-finished off-center dial, exposed motor barrel and bridge, and 38mm case while embracing the traditional attributes of a contemporary dress watch. Armin Strom introduced this 100-piece limited edition of the Tribute 1 in rose gold in response to demands from collectors worldwide for a precious metal case, building on the Tribute 1’s commercial success.
A Distinctive Dial
The off-center dial has an eye-catching black gold finish with an azure textured appearance. The watch’s painstakingly hand-beveled barrel bridge, as well as the hour, minute, and seconds hands, have been upgraded to 18K 5N rose gold to complement the gorgeous tones of the new rose gold case. All these components, including the movement, were created, produced, and hand-finished at Armin Strom. The adjoining dial plate, which has a grenage coating that slowly changes in hue under various lighting circumstances to display an appealing spectrum of anthracite tones, stands in striking contrast to the dial.
A painstakingly hand-polished skeletonized open-worked motor barrel with the words “100 HOURS OF POWER RESERVE” engraved on it completes this already extraordinary watch face. The Tribute 1 Rose Gold crown is at the 2 o’clock position, a feature that improves wearer comfort.
A Case Back That Merits as Much Consideration as the Dial
The sapphire crystal case back reveals the hand-wound caliber AMW 21 to highlight the exquisite hand-finishing of the movement. The three-quarter bridge, which has been hand-polished at a 60-degree angle with Côtes de Genève decorations, is also on show. On the main plate, the hand ornamentation comprises a circular grain pattern; the balancing bridge is decorated with side graining, anglage, sandblasting, and straight graining. With hand-beveled edges, the escapement and the escape bridge create a three-dimensional charm that adds to the Tribute 1 Rose Gold’s overall impression of elegance.

The Caliber AMW 21 was created and manufactured internally, just like all of Armin Strom’s movements. As part of their dedication to horological excellence, the novel motor barrel designed for the “Tribute 1” is differentiated by an arbor that rotates the mainspring inside the barrel itself, making it far more effective while also saving space. For a watch of this size and height, it offers a stunning 100-hour power reserve. Additionally, it is constructed twice, just like every caliber produced by Armin Strom. After initial assembly, the movement is disassembled and reassembled by Armin Strom’s watchmakers to guarantee the high quality of each component and the watch’s faultless operation.
