The Robusto Churchill ‘Sir Winston’ comes in a 43mm stainless steel and titanium case, using a 3-part modular construction technique. This method enables highly polished and satin-finished surfaces to merge seamlessly. A hinged lever, at 3 o’clock, serves as the crown. The Robusto Churchill ‘Sir Winston’ features a see-through case back, with a famous Churchill quote, ‘Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.

The petrol blue guilloché dial features a Clous de Paris motif. Located above the 6 o’clock marker, two apertures, positioned one above the other, display the day and date in an easy-to-read fashion. The silver-toned facetted hour and minute hands marry perfectly with the raised hour markers, allowing for excellent readability of the time. The hour markers are a mix of faceted, triangular indexes for even values and Arabic numerals for odd-numbered values. The hands are coated in Super-LumiNova.

Churchill and Cuba

Churchill first visited Cuba in 1895 at the age of 21 when he joined the Spanish Army to fight in what became known as the ‘Cuban War of Independence (1895 – 1898). His first taste of Cuba lasted only a few weeks, but he returned in 1946, this time as an elder statesman. He traveled with his wife, Clementine, and stayed at the prestigious Hotel Nacional. While on the island, he visited the Cuervo y Sobrinos boutique.

Churchill enjoyed Cuba and especially smoking the Havana cigars. The name Robusto is used to describe a short and ‘robust’ cigar, making it an appropriate moniker for this new Churchill-inspired, limited-edition model.
