Arnold & Son are renowned for their exceptional timepieces, meticulous craftsmanship, and bold aesthetics. The Nebula collection, built to resemble a blazing star, is no exception. The stunning structure of the skeletonized caliber is highlighted by the newly introduced color combination: gray NAC and 5N red gold.

Nebula has been a star of the Arnold & Son collection since its introduction in 2016. The Arnold & Son in-house manufacturer A&S5201 caliber is at the core of The Nebula Collection, defining their look, character, and force. A redesigned movement with cutting-edge finishings that are more advanced than ever.

The Nebula 18-carat 5N red gold case is extremely thin, measuring in at just 8.73 mm thick, and comes in two diameters: 41.5 mm and 38 mm, each a limited edition of 88 pieces.

The Arnold & Son Nebula Open-Worked Dial

The open-worked, chamfered, and satin-finished bridges are arranged in a star shape around the edge of the caliber, giving the appearance of a watchmaking explosion while also conveying a sense of rhythm and control. These bridges, placed at regular intervals, are of the same shape but vary in size, brilliantly showcasing Arnold & Son’s ‘Manufacture’ skill.

Nebula is a watch that takes its cues from the cosmos; therefore, the use of light and dark is a given. The dial is a beautiful contrast of red gold and anthracite gray tones. The gray color results from a NAC treatment consisting of a galvanic bath saturated with metals similar to platinum which emphasizes the relief of its A&S5201 movement. Bridges in the foreground, a gear train and barrels in the middle ground, and the main plate in the background make the dial easy to read.

The Arnold & Son A&S5201 Caliber

The A&S5201 manual caliber takes on new meaning when viewed through the transparent case back. Two large arcs processed with NAC intersect to show the main plate’s graphic structure, which is open-worked and chamfered, and on its surface, a pattern called “Rayons de la Gloire” unique to Arnold & Son.

Like all of Arnold & Son’s movements, the A&S5201 caliber is designed, developed, decorated, and assembled at their Manufacture in La Chaux-de-Fonds. The caliber has a power reserve of 90 hours thanks to a pair of large barrels and an oscillating frequency of 3 Hz.
