Much of Delma’s collection leans toward sporty, instrument-style watchmaking. They have consistently shown their expertise in producing durable and reliable watches at reasonable prices. However, Delma is now exploring a different direction with the newly introduced Midland collection catering to the sport-chic trend that is very popular right now. These new models, the Delma Midland Automatic and the Delma Midland Quartz, each come in six dial variations: white, black, blue, green, ice blue, and salmon, and are priced at the accessible price point we are used to from Delma.

The Midland name is deeply rooted in Delma’s history, dating back to the 1920s when the founding brothers first introduced it as one of their initial four brands. It was also the name of their very first chronograph in 1946. Over the decades, Delma has continuously evolved the Midland collection to meet the demands of an evolving market of watch enthusiasts. By the 1980s, the Midland line had become synonymous with precision and bold design, characterized by increased proportions and striking details.

The new Midland collection has changed significantly since the 80s, and I am sure these cool new sport-chic watches will speak to many a watch lover out there. They draw inspiration from a classic design from the 1980s, combining bold geometric forms with modern touches. Both the Automatic and Quartz versions feature an integrated stainless steel bracelet that seamlessly blends with the tonneau-shaped stainless steel case, creating a distinctive and contemporary look. The new fluted bezel contrasts beautifully with the smooth brushed elements of the case. The proportions are classic, with a diameter of 40.5mm and a thickness of 10.8mm, but the look is also resolutely sporty.

Available in six colors—white, black, blue, green, ice blue, and salmon—the dials are all pyramid-stamped with a guilloché pattern, providing a textured and sophisticated backdrop for the applied baton indexes and Super-LumiNova BGW9 hour and minute hands. A date window is visible at 3 o’clock, and both the automatic and quartz models are water-resistant, up to 10 ATM (100 meters). The Midland Automatic timepieces are powered by a Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement with a customized Delma rotor visible through the exhibition case back. The Midland models are distinguished by a reliable quartz movement and a stainless steel case back.
