CODE41 X41 Edition 4 – What’s new?

For the fourth version of the X41, CODE41 opted for the best in carbon fiber with a High Tech material usually reserved for the aeronautics and aerospace industry, AeroCarbon. This material is made in a specialized factory in France. With over 300 extremely fine layers, each positioned at a right angle to the previous layer, it guarantees a composite 2.5 times more resistant than steel. AeroCarbon is also 2X lighter than titanium and 4x lighter than steel. A case in Aerocarbon is watertight due to its high density, so there is no need for a titanium chamber.

The movement is a manufacture exclusive developed with one of the best Swiss designers. The Timeless Factory, who produces all of the components of its movements in-house, bar the balance wheel. The peripheral oscillating weight in the X41 movement is a real technical accomplishment that only a handful of brands have managed. The X41 movement is a complex one with most of the processes executed by hand, which means that they take a while to produce, hence the limited run for the X41 Aerocarbon.

CODE41 X41 – Swiss Made

For a Swiss watch to officially be Swiss Made 60% or more of its value must come from Switzerland. With the X41 project, CODE41 has managed a staggering 90% which largely surpasses the requirements. They do not, however, include the Swiss Made label on their watches opting instead for a total transparency in their costs.

CODE41 – Total Transparency

CODE41 have their own label, TTO, which stands for Total Transparency on Origin. This has always been at the heart of their approach and the will always provide you with both the origin and the cost of the components.
