Claude Greisler, the master watchmaker of Swiss independent watch manufacturer Armin Strom, continues to demonstrate his passion by revealing the brand’s latest limited edition series – Armin Strom Tribute 1 California. California-style dials and the brand’s transparent mechanism come together in this watch. The origins of this dial date back to the 1930s.

As a part of the brand’s SYSTEM 78 collection, this new interpretation of the Tribute 1 features impeccable hand finishing and is an exquisite example of fine watchmaking.

The Armin Strom Tribute 1 California

In keeping with its name, the dial of this watch features a combination of Roman hour markers (top half of the dial) and Arabic hour markers (bottom half of the dial). In addition to these distinctive hour markers, the watch also has a railway minute track ring and bar markers.

The off-centered dial for time indication of the new Armin Strom Tribute 1 California resembles its first Tribute 1. However, the brand has replaced the previous granular grenage finish with a black guilloche plate created by Finnish Watchmaker Kei Voutilainen (a close friend of the brand). These beautiful black guilloche patterns perfectly complement these five new dial colors.

The watch is available in five different dial colors: blue, light blue, green, burgundy, and black. This dress watch features a fumé dial with gradient effects in the dial color towards the center, making the color darker and deeper towards the perimeter. The barrel is visible on the dial and carefully hand-decorated and engraved with “100 HOURS OF POWER RESERVE”.

Each watch comes with an alligator leather strap on angular lugs with stitching that corresponds to the color of the dial. The case back is engraved with “1 OUT OF 5,” which adds up to a very limited total edition run of 25 pieces.

An Ideal Size:

Armin Strom Tribute 1 California comes in a 38 mm case with a height of 9.83 mm. The size of this watch is ideal for a dress watch, and with the crown at 2 o’clock and the angular lugs, it feels great on the wrist.

Armin Strom Calibre AMW21:

The newly developed manually-wound in-house Calibre AMW21 powers the Tribute 1 California. This ultra-thin movement measures only 33.50 mm x 4.20 mm. The watch delivers an impressive 100 hours of power reserve, and like all Armin Strom, movements have been assembled and disassembled two times.
